This year, I'm making a big impact on the fight to end breast cancer by participating in the Susan G. Komen Chicagoland Race for the Cure®.

Thousands of people will gather in both Grant Park on September 25th and in Lombard on September 26th to take a stand and prove that individuals have the power to change the world.

Without the cures, an estimated 25 million women around the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer – and 10 million could die over the next 25 years. That's why I'm joining the fight. I hope that you'll support me.

75 percent of the money raised by the Race for the Cure remains in the Chicagoland area to provide breast health research, diagnostics, screening, treatment, services and education for uninsured or underinsured women.  The remaining 25 percent goes to fund national research to discover the causes of breast cancer and, ultimately, its cures.

Every dollar makes a difference:

--$100 could allow for one ultrasound for a high risk woman
--$250 could be used to cover five clinical breast exams
--$500 could cover the cost of 1 needle biopsy
--$1000 can cover the cost of 8 screenings or diagnostic mammograms
